The spring check valve allows forward flow, while blocking backwards flow by way a normally closedplastic disc and spring mechanism. If backwards or no flow is present at all the disc will go back to being normall closed and cut off flow. The pressure required in order to open the valve is .3 psi and this valve has female NPT threads on either side.
